About Us
Industrial Railways Company (IRC) is a General Engineering Contractor providing superior, full service railroad track construction, including design and engineering, new track construction, maintenance, track removal, track inspection, paving, grading, crane-rail installation, and emergency repairs. In 2006, IRC celebrated our 50th year in business, making our firm the oldest continually operating railroad construction contractor in existence throughout Northern California and Nevada. Our extensive experience provides the basis for our ability to provide our customers with cost-effective tactics while maintaining the highest level of safety, quality and integrity. Our in-house resources include a highly experienced and skilled staff along with a well-maintained fleet of specialized machinery and equipment.

Our extensive network of contacts in the transportation industry led to our formation of Industrial Transloading, a division of IRC. Industrial Transloading specializes in the shipping and receiving of various agricultural and industrial products, via rail or truck, from ten sites strategically located throughout Northern California. The domestic and international business communities are increasingly discovering the cost effective benefits that rail-transportation offers, and Industrial Transloading can provide turnkey-services to assist with your rail shipping and material handling needs.

Mission Statement

Our transloading division specializes in shipping and receiving agricultural and industrial products. We equally strive in complying with Government Industry Regulations in order to maintain a high standard of safety. Safety Program
The Industrial Railways Company Safety Program was created to ensure that we provide the highest level of safety possible in our workplace. Our program includes pre-employment FRA Training, UPPR and BNSF On Track Safety, operating equipment certification, daily safety meetings, monthly independent safety audits, OSHA compliance, a strict drug-free program, and independent employee background checks. Additionally, all of our field employees are On-Track-Safety-trained and certified to work within the Right-0f-Way(s) of not only the BNSF and UP Railroads, but the majority of the Shortline Railroads in our region as well. Our top management is committed to enhancing the safety effort by regularly reviewing all health and safety related issues with field supervisors and foremen in order stay abreast of current safety issues and proactively establish preventative safety measures.
